The Idea

This piece isn't a calculated statement; it’s an instinct. It captures a moment of being completely occupied by a single, physical thing—the scent of a heavy rose. It’s a visual circuit breaker for a busy mind, a command to stop strategizing and just anchor yourself in the present.

The Work

I don’t map these pieces out on a grid; I work intuitively. The heavy crimson of the rose and the scraped, scrawled lines in the background weren't planned out in advance. They are the result of letting the paint move how it needs to. I left the early, raw marks and canvas grain visible because I’m not interested in a perfectly polished finish. The focus is on the feeling of the paint, not the rules of composition.

The Point

This piece is for the person who spends too much time living in their own head. It’s an intimate, bold anchor for a room that reminds you to trust your gut, breathe, and reconnect with the physical world.
